Ferias and corridas - Camargue bull games - Bulls running in the streets - Glossary of bullfighting terms |
Bulls can be found in the arena or in the farm meadows, but also in the streets of the city.
The bullfighting Feria includes four days of scheduled events before and after the bullfights. The Feria committee is in charge of the program, made up of music in the streets, art expos on the bullfighting theme, bulls running in the streets or encierros, abrivados (originally the arrival of the bulls from their pastures escorted by the gardians), or bandidos (bulls returning to their fields accompanied by the gardians on horseback). Even though the bulls’ horns are protected by wooden balls, the public is encouraged to carefully respect the security instructions announced by loud-speaker before each event.
The festivities include music and dancing at the bodegas, which open up at the end of the afternoon after the corrida and remain open late into the night. These are meeting places where you can listen and dance to the music of Seville and other popular dance music. |
