From 07 October 2017 to 02 April 2018
Bringing together a selection of works by contemporary and historical artists, this autumn’s collective exhibition spotlights our conceptions of a life of simplicity. In a wealth of free associations, it explores the fantasies and waves of nostalgia conjured by its very title, La Vie simple – Simplement la vie (“The Simple Life – Simply Life”). 11.00 AM to 6.00 PM
See you on the 7th of October for "La Vie simple - Simplement la vie", a collective exhibition to be discovered until 2 April 2018.
The Fondation Vincent van Gogh Arles aims to showcase and promote van Gogh’s artistic heritage while also asking questions about the resonance of his oeuvre in art today. By presenting the painting of van Gogh in the context of works by contemporary artists, it seeks to stimulate a fruitful dialogue centred on interrogation and reflection.
The Fondation serves as a dynamic forum for exchanges and events underscoring the inseparable link between the work of van Gogh and the town of Arles, and as a space conducive to discussion and debate on art and painting today.
In 2014 the Fondation Vincent van Gogh Arles moved into its permanent home. The Fondation’s new premises comprise over 1000 square metres of exhibition space spread over two floors. The main gallery on the ground floor welcomes the first in a series of exhibitions on the work of Van Gogh being curated by Sjraar van Heugten. In the adjacent areas, Bice Curiger presents brand new installations by contemporary artists in homage to the Dutch artist.
From 7 October 2017 to 2 April 2018.
Every day from 11am to 6pm. Last admissions 45 minutes before closing, i.e. 5.15pm.
All the Fondation’s exhibition spaces are wheelchair-accessible.
